The Plan is called to walk with annual conferences and local ministries as we build meaningful connections with the Hispanic/Latine communities
In collaboration with our partners, we offer a variety of materials including bilingual worship resources, cultural competency training, a engagement models, and best practices for leadership development.

The United Methodist Church created Lay Missioner and Certified Lay Minister programs to support Hispanic/Latino communities through culturally relevant training. These programs blend theory and practice to empower leaders and affirm their heritage, with additional modules for deeper church leadership training.

DeCenter aims to be a digital hub where Black and Brown worship leaders can create relevant, liberative liturgical resources for bilingual and multicultural Latine communities, while also training emerging leaders in worship and liturgy.

In response to issues like Christian nationalism and racialized politics, an 18-month leadership development process—supported by El Plan, GCORR, and the Lilly Foundation—will prepare pastors to reflect theologically, lead laity teams, and advocate for the common good through the lens of faith.

This Spanish-language training offers a comprehensive overview of The United Methodist Church’s structure, governance, and processes. Designed for both newcomers and seasoned members, it helps participants understand the UMC’s connectional system and shared leadership across all levels. Divided into three sections, the training supports culturally responsive ministry, especially within Hispanic/Latino congregations.

The Plan has partnered to publish Charles Wesley’s diaries in Spanish. A co-founder of Methodism and prolific hymn writer as his focus on faith and justice remains relevant to today’s Christian communities.
